The Sir Edward Patrick Morris Suite features a 100-year-old desk purchased in New York City and a King Sized Sleigh Bed, as well as original artwork by Gerard Squires.
About Sir Edward Patrick Morris: Sir Edward Patrick Morris is best known as Newfoundland's first Catholic Prime Minister, and the first Newfoundlander to be elevated to the British House of Lords.
In office from 1909 - 1917, Morris was a renowned for his common touch. His government focused on development, contributing in large part to the construction of a railway and developing resources within Newfoundland.
On January 1st, 1918 Morris became the first (and remains the only) Newfoundlander to be made a peer, becoming Baron Morris of Waterford.
Morris moved to London and took his seat in the House of Lords in 1918. He returned to Newfoundland only once thereafter, and died in London in 1935 at the age of 76.
